Church Overview
Much local material – Lewisian Gneiss, Borve pottery, Harris tweed – is used in this white-harled cruciform church, built 2005-07. Impressive tapestry of Our Holy Redeemer by Meg Thompson. Antique oak crucifix donated by the Diocese of Aachen, Germany. Unique oak lectern, presidential chair and curved ash pews, all custom-made and decorated with craved Celtic knot design. Antique brass domed tabernacle, Italian woodcarvings of Christ, Virgin & Child and Stations of the Cross. Fine brass and silver 'Evangelist' processional Cross.
