Church Overview
Built 1887 by William Young of London in Gothic style containing features from earlier church. Fine Crown spire dominates the High Street. An inviting flight of steps leads up to the entrance. The chancel was reconstructed by J D Cairns 1937. Entrance screen of 1965, woodwork by Messrs Scott Morton, metalwork by Charles Henshaw & Son. Stained glass by Helen Turner, Daniel Cottier and Crear McCartney. Pulpit 1913 by P MacGregor Chalmers. Part of pre-Reformation font incorporated in table in crossing, by Mitchall Design 1998. Pipe organ by August Gern 1887, extensively rebuilt. .
