Church Overview
Formerly the North Parish Church for the island, the present oblong harled building, with Caithness slates in its churchyard, was constructed in the 17th century and renovated in 1801 and 1967. Features a pulpit with sounding board on the long wall and a long central communion table (believed to be unique in Orkney). All pews are thought to be made from driftwood. The oil lamps have been converted to electricity.
