Church Overview
Built on the site of an earlier church, the present building was designed in Early English style by Sir R Rowand Anderson and consecrated in 1881. The broach spire intended for the tower was never built. Panelling and redecoration of the roof by Sir Matthew Ochterlony, late 1940s. Altered in 1975 by Dr F R Stevenson to provide Lady Chapel and vestries. The font has traditionally been associated with St Margaret and Restenneth Priory. 3-manual pipe organ by Conacher of Huddersfield. Stained glass by Charles E Kempe and Septimus Waugh. Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother was confirmed in the church. Historic graveyard predates present church.
