Church Overview

The old parish church was replaced by the present building in 1892. It is a handsome structure by architects Henry Steele and Andrew Balfour, of red stone with a three-stage tower with spire and clock. Interesting carved octagonal oak pulpit and notable windows. 'Father' Willis organ 1892, generally regarded as one of the finest church instruments in Scotland. Memorial to General Sir Thomas MacDougall Brisbane, astronomer, soldier and Governor of New South Wales. The Heritage Centre is an extremely interesting Visitor Attraction which caters for all ages and tastes. The Heritage Booklet is available for download from the Church's web site.
