Church Overview
Built 1963-4 by Gillespie, Kidd & Coia to a radical modernist design and regarded as one of the finest examples of British twentieth century ecclesiastical architecture. The embellished red brick box conceals an atmospheric church naturally illuminated by subtle architectural devices, which facilitate the delicate transmission of light throughout this spectacular space. The original 150-ft campanile had to be demolished in 1966 due to the deterioration of the brickwork.
