Church Overview

Built by Archibald Simpson 1817 and altered and enhanced by Sir Ninian Comper 1939-45. Gold burnished baldacchino over the high altar. National Memorial to Samuel Seabury, first Bishop of America consecrated in Aberdeen in 1784. Interesting roof heraldry depicting American states and Jacobite supporters of the 45 rebellion. Stained glass. Sir John Betjeman described it as one of Aberdeen's best modern buildings. Organ by Bruce of Edinburgh 1818, rebuilt and enlarged by Hill, Norman & Beard.
