Church Overview
Built 1630s on 12th-century foundations, altered 1820s and the interior re-ordered during the 20th century. The east window, depicting St Cuthbert & St Giles, was erected in memory of Sir Walter Scott, whose family farmed at Sandyknowes by Smailholm Tower. Birdcage belfry with external bell-rope and outside stairs to the laird's loft.
