Church Overview
The Church of Renfrew was bestowed by King David on the Cathedral Church of Glasgow in 1136. The present church in early Gothic style was built in 1861-2 and designed by John Thomas Rochead. The chancel was remodelled by P MacGregor Chalmers in 1908. Reredos of 1937 by Waddell & Young. Within the sanctuary are two late medieval monuments, a hooded vault with recumbent effigies and an altar tomb.
