Church Overview

The church is named after the Paisley Martyrs who were executed in 1685. Built 1847 with additions and alterations, including tower and south front in neo-Norman style 1905, T G Abercrombie, architect. Inside are galleries on three sides on cast-iron colonnettes. The pulpit, 18ft long, has been likened to the bridge of a ship.

Martyr's Church and Sandyford Church in Thread Street united in November 2009, with the name Paisley Martyrs' Sandyford Church. Sandyford Church is closed for repair; services are held in the church halls.
