Church Overview
Opened 1851 as Mill Street United Presbyterian Church, as St Luke's United Free Church in 1900, closed 1953 and reopened as Knox United Free Church in 1954. The church is in Gothic-style church with a two-storey, three-gabled sandstone ashlar frontage with pinnacles on the street façade. Remarkably fine and intact interior decoration and furnishings. Grand pulpit with ornate wrought-iron and brass balustrade to ascending stairs. Stained glass depicting the Gospel stories of St Luke: The Lost Sheep, The Lost Coin, The Prodigal Son and The Journey to Emmaus.
