Church Overview
St Mary's is the third building to have been constructed on the site. The architect was David Bryce and it was built 1864-7. The seating capacity is over 1,000. The roof is modelled on that of Parliament Hall in Edinburgh and the pulpit is a long wall pulpit.
On the west side is an almost separate tiny chapel: St Mary's Aisle, a surviving part of the collegiate church founded here in 1425 by Thomas, First Lord Somerville and incorporating a church established in 1386.
