Church Overview
There has been a church on this site since before 1244. The present building dates from 1809 and has remained structurally unchanged since that time. The architect was probably Archibald Elliot. The interior is plain and unspoiled, complete with carpenter's Gothic pulpit, and gallery on clustered iron posts. Robert Burns's mother, brother and sisters are buried in the churchyard. Graveguard and other items dating from the time of the 'Resurrection Men' displayed in the porch.
