Church Overview
As far as is known, the original kirk was built in the twelfth century on the legendary site of St Devenick's tomb. (Saint Devenick was an evangelist, sent out to minister to the Picts and who died in Caithnes.) The church was rebuilt in 1822 which is the kirk building that stands on this site today with alterations in 1865 and 1925. A simple rectagular stone-built church with Gothic windows and a neat bellcote.
