Listed Places of Worship Grants Scheme

The Listed Places of Worship Grants Scheme enables listed places of worship to claim back a portion of the VAT incurred for repairs and maintenance to the building. Since January 2011, professional fees and repair works to fixtures such as bells and organs can no longer be recovered. Since April 2011 only a percentage of the VAT spent of repairs and maintenance can be recovered; the percentage depends on the number of churches applying and the monies available.
